About the Client
Doctify, a UK-based healthcare technology company, operates a global platform that enables patients to review and rate healthcare providers while accessing reliable information to make informed care decisions. With a presence in markets like London, Germany, Austria, Australia, Dubai, and Ireland, Doctify aims to improve transparency and trust in healthcare through patient feedback and data-driven insights.
The Client's Initial Request
Doctify engaged DBB Software to build a robust cloud infrastructure capable of supporting scalable global web applications and API integrations as the company expanded internationally:
Scalable Global Infrastructure
Establish cloud architecture to support users across multiple regions including Europe, the Middle East, and Australia.
01
Microservices Migration
Transition from a monolithic application to a distributed microservices architecture for improved scalability and maintainability.
02
Automated Deployment Pipeline
Implement CI/CD processes to enable faster, more reliable deployments across all environments.
03
Infrastructure Standardization
Codify all cloud infrastructure to ensure consistency, compliance, and reproducibility across environments.
04
Solutions We Delivered
DBB Software established a comprehensive CloudOps foundation for Doctify, transforming their infrastructure from a single monolithic deployment to a globally distributed, fully automated cloud ecosystem:
Microservices Migration on AWS and GCP
Separated Doctify's monolithic application into microservices and deployed them across AWS and GCP. Leveraged GCP credits to optimize infrastructure costs during scaling phases while maintaining AWS as the primary cloud platform, enabling the team to allocate more budget toward feature development.
Automated CI/CD Pipeline
Implemented GitLab CI/CD for fully automated deployments, reducing manual intervention and enabling rapid, consistent releases. The pipeline supported multiple environments and ensured code quality through automated testing and validation stages, cutting deployment time from 4 hours to just 20 minutes.
Infrastructure as Code
Codified all cloud infrastructure using Terraform, enabling version-controlled, reproducible deployments across environments. Migrated from a single AWS account to separate AWS Organizations to establish clear security boundaries, simplify compliance requirements, and improve cost allocation across teams.
Scalable Serverless Architecture
Leveraged the Serverless Framework for Lambda function management alongside SQS, DynamoDB, Aurora, and Elastic Beanstalk. This architecture provided automatic scaling, reduced operational overhead, and enabled the platform to handle variable workloads efficiently as Doctify expanded to new markets.
Results Achieved
92% Reduction in Deployment Time
Automated CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure standardization reduced deployment time from 4 hours to just 20 minutes, enabling faster feature delivery and rapid incident response.
Global Infrastructure Established
Built a multi-region cloud architecture supporting users across Europe, the Middle East, and Australia, enabling Doctify's expansion to six countries with consistent performance.
Infrastructure as Code Coverage
All infrastructure is now managed through Terraform, ensuring consistency across environments, simplifying compliance audits, and enabling rapid provisioning of new resources.
Improved Security and Compliance
Migration from a single AWS account to separate AWS Organizations established clear security boundaries, simplified compliance requirements, and improved cost visibility across the platform.
