Background

Our customer, a Canadian textile company, requested help from DBB Software specialists to develop a cross-platform solution to complement their smart textile attire. These garments collect users’ biometric data and other information such as heart rate and ECG to allow them to take control of their cardiac health.

Our experts developed a comprehensive cross-platform application to support the client’s smart textile garments. We employed a sophisticated tech stack to ensure the solution’s compatibility with garments and implemented the following functions:

Metric tracking: The app monitors metrics such as heart rate, resting heart rate, body temperature, posture, steps, and geolocation.
Symptom recording: The app includes a diary feature that allows users to log and track their symptoms over time.
Aura Viewing: A visual summary of the user’s health and wellness that includes key wellness metrics captured from the biometric-sensing garments.
Engage with Loved Ones: A built-in text chat feature that allows users to communicate with their loved ones while they simultaneously view the Aura.
Community in Mind: The ability to form communities where users can share their experiences, communicate, and seek support.
Emergency Alert: An emergency alert feature to send instant notifications to the user’s designated contacts, including their healthcare professionals.
Data Management: Users can manage the biometric data, including viewing historical data, setting data sharing preferences, and deleting data.
Integration with EHR: Integration with Google Fit and Apple Health Kit and electronic health records (EHR) systems enables healthcare workers to monitor patients' health.

Implementation

#1 Research and Analysis

Our specialists conducted an in-depth analysis of the customer’s product. We determined how to create an interconnected ecosystem featuring a mobile app, smart textile garments, and the pod. The garments transfer data to the pod, which, in turn, shares it with the app and a clinical admin portal.

DBB Software experts worked following the agile methodology. The development process included the creation of a cross-platform application, user-friendly UI/UX, and logic for transferring data to the backend for processing information.
